Pablo Fernandez started his journey in technology when he was 7 years old when gifted his first computer, only to find himself more intrigued by writing code than playing games. His career has spanned a number of roles, from individual contributor to CEO, which has provided him with unique insight into the working life and working requirements at multiple levels and across both technical and non-technical departments.

He has worked in small startups as co-founded – achieving successful exit with the app Watu – and in large giants including Google and banking. One consistent feature since the early 2000s has been remote working, for which he has a great interest and passion in doing it well. With his book, he hopes to encourage other managers, seniors, executives, and leaders, to embrace new and better standards in remote work spaces.

Jess Poore

[Pablo] created such a great collaborative way of working, had a great relationship with his team and showed me many new ways of working. In particular how to lead teams in an effective and collaborative way that are remotely based.

Jess Poore, Founder of The Together Club

David Norris

I looked to [Pablo] and his team for examples of “what good looks like” as a remote/distributed team […], I can say that Pablo had created an environment made up of the right people and where each team member felt valued and was able to function without the need to be located in the same physical environment.

David Norris, HR Director, Wifinity

Goran Jovic

[Pablo] has a unique combination of strong technical skills and good grasp of the business side of things, which allowed him to very quickly set up a distributed team from scratch, bootstrap it with an amazing workplace culture, team spirit and group cohesion. And, of course, deliver results even within the first few months.
